Event description

The benefits of cultivating meat are well established —the ability to produce meat that is identical to conventional animal meat more sustainably, decreasing GHG emissions, deforestation, water pollution, and antibiotic resistance. Nevertheless, the success of cultivated meat is directly tied to consumer acceptance. In this GFI LINC seminar, we will hear from researchers and industry experts about the state of consumer acceptance of cultivated meat globally, and how to increase acceptance through consumer education and effective messaging.

More about GFI LINC

GFI LINC (Learn, Inspire, Network, Collaborate) is a new industry initiative that leverages the Good Food Institute’s unique position in the alternative protein ecosystem to bring together companies across the global value chain to gain key insights into the alternative protein market and foster new collaborations and partnerships. We will host a quarterly seminar dedicated to topics that are critical to addressing industry bottlenecks and accelerating the growth of the alternative protein sector. This community is founded upon the belief that by convening a diverse range of stakeholders, we can drive industry-wide change and grow the entire sector in a way that benefits all.

In order to join the community, you must work for one of the following types of companies:

  • A traditional food manufacturer/B2B supplier (e.g., ingredients, equipment) with a clear intent of dedicating at least a part of the business to alternative proteins.
  • An alternative protein startup/company that is mature in terms of scale (beyond conceptual/early R&D stage) and funding (minimum series A).
